Known as the fashion capital of the world, Milan sets the stage for the latest trends in fashion, beauty and of course, nails, and Milan A/W 2017 Fashion Week was no exception. This season, the phrase “what’s-old-is-new-again” rang true at the Elisabetta Franchi and Moschino runway shows. Models sported an oldie-but-goodie nail style: the half moon. Originally created back in the early 1930s, the half moon manicure boasted Old Hollywood glamour at the Elisabetta Franchi show. Inspired by the era of ’80s power dressing, models sported crisp white blazers, and tailored trousers with a hint of sparkle and red tips with white lanulas. On the other end of the spectrum, Moschino showcased a “non-glamorous” take on the trend to match designer’s Jeremy Scott’s recycling-themed collection. Models wore almond-shaped tips featuring a tan, “cardboard-colored” base (a mix of CND Banana Clips, Clay Canyon and Cream Puff) with striking white half moons.
