With asymmetrical shapes and cutouts, Cushnie et Ochs created beautiful silhouettes that emphasize a woman’s shape. As the models transitioned down the runway, colors went from white to rose, fuschia black and then metallic tones. To ensure the nails accented each tone, Julie Kandalec for essie created a Shattered Metallic Ombré for the Cushnie Et Ochs Fall/Winter 2018 show at NYFW. Follow along below to see how she got the look that ruled the runway.

Get the manicure

  1. Apply first base base coat
  2. Next, apply two coats of skinny dip
  3. Dab summit of style across the tip of the nail
  4. Then, turn the brush so that the handle points toward your wrist and lightly drag the leftover polish in the direction of the cuticle to create a “natural trail” of glitter
  5. Intesify the sparkle by adding another layer of summit of style to the tip only
  6. Finish with speed.setter top coat for high shine

*Pro tip – make sure the nail is a soft square shape before beginning. Julie Kandalec says that “If the nail is too oval, it doesn’t look as graphic.”
